Paterson GlobalFoods Inc. (PGF) has a long-standing history of giving back to the communities it serves. From lending the company’s shipping fleet to the Second World War effort in 1939 to making a significant charitable donation to Canada’s most modern hospitality management and culinary school in 2008, Paterson GlobalFoods Inc. is proud to continue the tradition of supporting worthy causes across Canada.

Educational Scholarships, Bursaries and Rewards

THRIVE Scholarship Program

Paterson GlobalFoods Inc. is pleased to offer the availability of its Thrive Program.  The Thrive Program is specifically designed for students currently enrolled in high school or post-secondary who are interested in pursuing a career in agriculture.

The Thrive Program uniquely combines financial assistance, career training and, upon successful completion of a post-secondary education, the potential for a long term career with Paterson GlobalFoods Inc.

Paterson GlobalFoods Institute

In July 2008, Paterson GlobalFoods Inc. and its related Foundation each made matching contributions totalling $2 million to its new culinary arts training facility located at Red River College’s downtown campus in the heart of Winnipeg, Manitoba.

The Paterson GlobalFoods Institute includes fully modernized classrooms for culinary, baking and pastry arts as well as hospitality management facilities and a student residence.

Over 140 students graduate every year from the Paterson GlobalFoods Institute. Each graduate will enter the workforce with the practical experience necessary to secure long-term and rewarding employment.

Charity Involvement

The Paterson Family Foundation

The Paterson Family Foundation was started in 2018 to follow in the footsteps of dedicated philanthropist Senator Norman McLeod Paterson. Since then, the Foundation has been a devoted supporter of community organizations in the Prairie Regions of Canada.

Grants are made to charitable, non-profit organizations with the major emphasis on projects and programs in the areas of education, health care, religion, social welfare and youth. The Foundation’s prime areas of interest are in the Prairie Region of Canada.
