Paterson GlobalFoods Inc. (PGF) has a long-standing history of giving back to the communities it serves. From lending the company’s shipping fleet to the Second World War effort in 1939 to making a significant charitable donation to Canada’s most modern hospitality management and culinary school in 2008, Paterson GlobalFoods Inc. is proud to continue its tradition of supporting worthy causes across Canada.

Educational Scholarships, Bursaries, and Rewards

Paterson is proud to offer the Thrive Program designed for students currently enrolled in high school or post-secondary who are interested in pursuing a career in agriculture. The Thrive Program uniquely combines financial assistance, career training and, upon successful completion of a post-secondary education, the potential for a long term career with Paterson GlobalFoods Inc.

Paterson GlobalFoods Institute

In July 2008, Paterson GlobalFoods Inc. and the Paterson Foundation each made matching contributions totalling $2 million to its new culinary arts training facility located at Red River College’s downtown campus in the heart of Winnipeg, Manitoba.

The Paterson GlobalFoods Institute includes fully modernized classrooms for culinary, baking and pastry arts as well as hospitality management facilities and a student residence.

Red River College expects that over 140 students will graduate every year from the Paterson GlobalFoods Institute.  Each graduate will enter the workforce with the practical experience necessary to secure long-term and rewarding employment.

Involvement with Local Charities

CancerCare Manitoba – Paterson GlobalFoods Inc. (PGF) has a long-standing relationship with CancerCare Manitoba.

CancerCare Manitoba is an organization committed to reducing the impact of cancer on all Manitobans.  CancerCare Manitoba contributes to the prevention of cancer through early detection, care, research, education and public outreach and focuses on improving the quality of life for all Manitobans with cancer and blood disorders.

Every year PGF, and its employees, forms a team to participate and support CancerCare Manitoba’s major fundraising event, the Challenge for Life 20km walk.
